Jacques Herbin 1798 Kyanite du Nepal - 50ml Bottled Ink

This 50ml glass bottle of Jacques Herbin 1798 Kyanite du Nepal fountain pen is a bright blue pulling toward turquoise. The intensity is magnified thanks to a cloud of silver glitter. Since the discovery of the famous mining region of Nepal, Kali Gandaki, Kyanite has been recognized as a noble mineral because of its similarities with the rich tones of sapphire. Best used with dip pens; if using with a fountain pen converter, be sure to empty out the ink after each use to avoid clogging.
  

Iron gall ink was an indelible ink used on sailboats from the 12th to the 19th century. It goes down brown and then dries into a dark purply black. It doesn’t fade in the sun or wash away in the spray. J Herbin was a sailor and his first ink recipe was for Iron Gall. His second was called, "La Perle des Encres" (The Jewel of Inks), a recipe brought back on one of his many journey’s to India and refined for years afterwards.
